Server Map & Map Tutorials

Interactive Live World Map (aka Dynmap)

The Interactive world map can be found here.

The Dynmap displays the world in real-time, including players, as well as displaying map markers which can be placed by any player directly in the game world using signs (see below for details).

If you mouse over the right-hand edge of the screen, you will have the option to change the map view.
There are currently 2D and 3D Perspective view for both the Overworld and the Nether (Default: Overworld 3D)

Using The Dynmap

The Web interface is pretty self explanatory, and allows for several views of each world map.

You can also chat with players in-game using the map, provided the server recognises your IP (IE, you have logged in to the game before with that computer recently).

Adding Map Icons From In-game

You can add icons to the map yourself from in-game, without having to wait for me to add them for you! How great is that! All you will need is one normal sign for each map icon you wish to create.

You then simply need to place the sign anywhere you want.

The first line of the sign must always be:
[dynmap]

This lets the game know you are trying to add a map icon.

On the second line, you can specify which map icon you wish to put on the map. Pictures of all icons and their names can be seen below.

So, to make our icon a tower icon, we would put this on the second row:
icon:tower

Note: Some icons have names too long to long to tpe on the sign, and thus cannot be used via this method of adding map icons

On the 3rd and 4th lines, you can type the name of whatever you are creating an icon for. For example:
Dragonstone
Citadel

Once ready, your sign should look something like this:

Once you click accept, provided there was no errors, the [dynmap] and icon lines should disappear from the sign like below, and your map icon should now be on the map.

Note: You may need to move your character around just to force the map to fresh it's data for the area you are in.

Standard Map Icon Conventions

These Icons are intended to be used for specific purposes. In order to keep the map easy to read, please only use these map icons for their intended purposes:

Anchor - An underwater explorable area
Factory - A factory or automated processing area
Minecart - An abandoned mineshaft area
Portal - A Nether portal
Sign - Kingdom Borders
Tree - Biome Name
Truck - Railway Station
Walk - Spawn Points
World - Kingdom Names / Markers

Additionally, Coloured Flag Icons are reserved for use as train station indicators, with each colour used to represent one of the different train lines.

All other map icons are free for you to use at your own discretion.
