Catacombs is a plugin that allows easy creation of simple zelda like dungeons in the world. These dungeons allow for money to be earnt per kill, as well as random loot to be earnt as you progress through the dungeons.
Note: You may not have access to all these commands depending on your Permissions level
Lists the names of all dungeons in the world.
/cat goto <dungeon>
Teleports you to the named dungeon
/cat reset name
Resets the dungeons called "name". This restocks all chests, closes all doors, and removes all torches. Any players in the dungeon will be teleported back to the hut on the surface.
As above, but resets all dungeons.
Tells you the name of the dungeon you are in, or that your crosshairs are aiming at.
You can teleport to a dungeon using the /cat goto command. Each dungeon has a hut on the surface, contain basic shelter facilities (craft table, furnace, 2 beds). Entrance into the dungeon proper is via a trapdoor and ladder in the floor.
Note that every dungeon is different, and there are three stats to consider. These are always summarised on a sign outside the dungeon door:
Each dungeon has a number of floors associated to it. "Small" chests containing loot are scattered around a floor. At the end of every floor you will find a "Medium" chest with even better loot. The end room of a floor always contains a cake on a stick and a double chest. If there are more floors to explore, there will also be another trapdoor and ladder down to the next floor. The end of the last floor has a "Large" chest instead of a medium chest, with the bes loot (such as diamonds!)
Every dungeon is built with a radius, which determines the size of each floor. For example, a dungeon with a radius of 15 results in a 30x30 floorspace. The bigger this number, the larger and more mazelike each floor in the dungeon will be.
This is purely subjective, depending on the skill of the player(s) entering. Some dungeons are small and easy, recommended for solo players. Others are larger and much, much harder, and may result in a recommendation for 2 or more players.
For Best Results, it is recommended that you only enter the dungeon with:
- A Sword
Dungeons also include "Hidden Doors". Hidden doors can be behind any mossy cobblestone block in the dungeon (left click a mossy cobble, if it opens then its a door - you can close it by clicking on the block under the doorway)
Killing monsters while inside a dungeon will earn you money. The amount you will earn is currently set to be randomly between 1 and 20 silver.
Note that while you are inside a dungeon, you cannot destroy blocks (they respawn). Blocks will also not be destroyed by creeper explosions. Since you cannot destroy the spawner blocks, you MUST light them up with torches on them to prevent more mobs spawning.
Dungeons created with newer versions of the plugin have more features.
Standard issue dungeons. Predominantly zombies, with skeletons, spiders, cave spiders, zombie pigmen and the very rare wolf or creeper.
A different look to the dungeons (Dirt floor, sandstone ceiling) as well as a decreased dependancy on zombies, and an increase to chance of all other mob types (including wolves and creepers). Also allowed for Blazes!
