He'll do extra damage to his target downstairs (and possibly aoe) if you dont have agro - When his head wanders off to snap at someone.

I thought it was an animation, because he's been doing that even with a cappy mark (afaik). I've atleast seen some targets be at about full health for long. Last time RK stone was healing me so it kept aggro on the head for atleast 20 seconds without taking damage. After my heals took over aggro, I still received that small heal so it didn't go down either...

Well when it was cappy markable it was borked.

And I know that before i got agro one time, the person with agro took a massive unexpected hit. Way to check it is for someone downstairs with agro to watch their ocmbat log.

Could be they did that just to get the tank awake. I'll buy it, np. :D Atleast gives me something to do.

Still boring as hell tbh, but at least its proper tanking. :lol:

Although Draigoch did bug out where he was actualyl hanging on to the wall 45 degrees to the right of the platform, which made it interesting for calling out the movement directions, particularly in phase 2 :mrgreen:

Haha :D Last time I was doing it (or the one before that, anyway) I totally missed the tell on phase 2 once, and noticed he's mid air and about to blow me to fire, so I took 2 ticks and had to make a quick decision. :D

Euhm i red somewhere that there's an exploit when tanking the head. The just stand there and do nothing technique;
A. Anyone tried that before?
B. Doesent that make it even more boring?

used to work, using captain's noble mark to maintain aggro.

got fixed more recently, and yes it made it even more boring than it is now.

If you just stand in front of the head doing nothing, you will die pretty quickly - if you're solo-tanking it, that is. This is what Guardians do, pretty much, but they need someone along to spam them with heals all the time. ;)

As a Warden however, what you do is you continuously rotate between protective gambits (block, parry, evade etc.) and self-healing gambits (or even morale-leeches). :)
It might also be a good idea to keep the aggro of the head, since it seems to reduce the chance that someone downstairs will get a big snap from it. This is just an observation though, and hasn't been proven. On the other hand, it can't hurt to do it. :P

I don't think the head attacks downstairs. The animations don't seem to change (I think) no matter who has the aggro. Now it doesn't matter who has aggro, the head will do atleast frontal aoe attacks. The "tank" will take dmg and anyone near enough will too. I'm haven't tried to figure out if it's distributed dmg or not, because it doesn't really matter. Keeping one or two tanks up is really easy anyway. I don't know why some people still stick a healer with their tank, if the tank can't solo it. I joined a pug the other day and RK was up with the tank. Tho, I guess a cappy downstairs could mean more dps from the group than an RK, but the RK wouldn't have to be healing anyway...

Basically as a tank u stand there and take some damage. If your gear is pretty near the best and u know what u're doing, u can solo it on I think as any heavy class or a warden. It'd be a waste tho to have a champ there. :p
