Kinship Rules

If you wish to discuss these rules, please do so in the Kinship Rules: Discussion thread.

About:

We pride ourselves on being a big friendly kinship open to everyone without restrictions. Unfortunately in the past some people have exploited our goodwill (Namely, ninja-looting the contents of the kinhouse when it was accessible to everyone).

While we don't want to dictate what you can and cannot do in-game, We feel it's necessary to implement a few basic rules - many of which should be common sense anyway - so that everyone in the kin can enjoy the game to the max.

General:

+ Behaviour: Be polite to all kin members at all times. Remember theres a line between banter and bullying. Be aware that the kinship is a friendly place for everyone, of all ages. Don't conduct inappropriate discussions in chat, or discuss inappropriate topics.

+ Bad Language: Swearing directly at another kin member is not tolerated, and in extreme circumstances could result in immediate expulsion from the kinship without warning. The odd indirect swear word (e.g. "Oh Shit!") may be tolerated, but please do not use bad language to excess.

+ Reputation: Do not do anything in game that is illegal according to game rules, or may bring a bad name on the kin. This includes ninja-looting (stealing all loot) and ninja-inviting (randomly sending unwated invites to people). Repeated bad behaviour may result in a warning or expulsion.

+ You Give, You Get... Don't exploit the goodwill of the kin. Do not continuously ask for kinnies to craft items for you, ask for help with trivial quests etc. Kinnies have their own things to do, and aren't always on hand to help others in need. You should give back to the kin what you take out of it - It's only fair. Being a constant pest may result in a warning.

+ Boosting: This kin does not, and will not boost its members. This is the act of fast-leveling someone towards the end-game. In fact, it is IMPOSSIBLE to boost in the traditional sense in LOTRO. You will not get more experience from instances etc if you run them with characters too high to earn XP themselves - XP is still divided equally among all persons in a group, even if some members cannot earn it. You are welcome to ask the assistance of a higher level player in times of need, but regularly asking to be "boosted" may result in a warning and eventually expulsion, regardless of whether kinnies are willing to help you. Besides, it's no fun if someone else does all the work, for both of you :)

Kinhouse:

+ Items stored in the kinhouse are for everyone's benefit. New recruits may not be allowed items until they are promoted to kinsman, at the officer's discretion.

+ Class Quest Items: These are there to help kin members complete those quests. Be fair, and give back as much as you take. We can only provide these items if we have them in stock, so we appreciate your help to keep supplies flowing. Send any donations to EORADAIN.

+ Dyes: A selection of dyes is on offer at at the kinhouse. Feel free to ask an officer if you need any, or wait until it is offered. Again, Please try to be fair and give back what you take. We will happily accept any donations of either dyes or items used in making dyes. Send any donations to EORADAIN.

+ Cosmetics: If you borrow items such as cosmetics, place give them back IMMEDIATELY after you have finished cosmetically equipping them. Failure to do so may be considered theft. Some of these items are EXTREMELY rare. (NOTE: Cosmetic supplies are no longer stored in the kinhouse, but are privately kept by the officer(s) that own them. They may still be offers for kinnies to borrow at the officer's discretion)

+ Kegs: The Kin cannot be held responsible if you consume too much alcohol in the kinhouse, loose your trousers, and promptly end up murdered by some evil things on the far side of Middle-Earth or end up in the Bree-town jail for streaking.

Enforcement:

+ Regularly Breaking the rules will result in a warning.

+ If you continue to disregard the rules, you may be kicked from the kin.

+ In Extreme cases (such as abuse against another member) you may be kicked from the kin immediately without warning.

Hey guys.

I think its better that i write this in here so everyone know.
We will gladly help you with fellowship quests and instances, BUT we do not help you power level!
Why you might ask? - Its because it doesnt really help and it really is a waste of time for the helpful soul :) So we do not help with solo quests you can easily do on your own!:)

Just so you know:D
