How important/needed do you guys think it is to level up the legacy tiers on a leggy weapon?

i know higher tiers = less points to rank up = more points to spend on other legacy's, but is it worth the cost of the scrolls needed to do this?

any advice?

Ta very muchness

If u compile a weapon with all and only the legacies u want for it, u want to max them out as high as possible, so u will need to fine tune it as good as u can, in other words spend a load of money or skirmish marks on the emp scrolls. :)

Yes, I think it's pretty much vital if u want to do the hard content.

I agree with Neth.

It is all the little numbers that add up to a strong group (6- or 12-man alike). But again, it depends on what your "ambition" is in terms of running content.

A good weapon or class item is just one piece of the puzzle btw. Another piece is a good, levelled up string of virtues - or the bringing af food/pots/scrolls etc. to the instances and raids.

A fairly important point though; If you cannot afford it at this time then don't sweat it. In time there will be enough gold and marks to get that weapon covered. And we will happily be assisting you on those runs - since a DPS class' weapon should put out as much hurt as possible. That will help the kin in general :)

Definitely.

My approach is to find a weapon with 4 (at least) majors, play with the legs and then max that weapon out with the legs I want that suit my style (for hunter bow - focus and induction bow crit, focus power, and at least one of induction power or quick shot crit, then 2 of barbed arrow bleed, agi and vit; for melee - precision crit and AOE targets plus at least 3 of intent conc power restore, beneath notice cooldown, press onward cooldown, needful haste duration). Saves on celes.

Yes it's worth doing if you're going to be doing a lot of endgame content. If it's a levelling weapon, don't bother. In broad terms, a second age LI thats just been levelled to max and NOT had any empowerment scrolls used on it, will have enough points to max out about 3, maybe 4, legacies if just spend points on those legacies. If you empower every legacy to tier 6, then it's possible to max out 5 legacies, if not 5 if you dont spend any points on the inbuilt legacy (ie dps, tactical healing, shield use etc).

interesting point, the first thing i do with a bow is max out the core DPS legacy, have i been wrong to do this? would i be better off then putting the points into something like crit damage legacy's or others first?

Nooooooooo always max out the default legacy first imo.

Certain LIs don't need this though (for example RK healing stone doesn't need dps).

Similarly, things like "Incoming Healing" for Bulgar Tools / Champ Runes are main legacies with less importance.

DPS/Heal related main legacies on a waepon for DPS/heals however, should ALWAYS be the first priority.

Yeah dps you always want to max out but for me, stuff like shield use rank is somewhat pointless to level
